What is World Yoga Day?
On December 11, 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21st as the International Day of Yoga. The resolution passed with a unanimous vote and yogis of the world also see this day as an opportunity to organize and unite people under the common mission of a more loving, peaceful, and caring world.
The "Om" App
BookRetreats.com is joining forces with the global yoga community, including some of the most well-respected media outlets, brands and organizations to get 1,000,000 people to overlay the Aum (Om) symbol on their Facebook profile picture. They want to help spread yoga and its message of unity on International Yoga Day on June 21st, 2016.
The launch comes as the yoga industry is exploding in growth. Over 80 million people, or 1/3 of all Americans are likely to practice yoga in the next year.
