Senior Iyengar yoga teacher Joan White returns to the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY, for a five-day yogaintensive, Unearthing the Roots of Iyengar Yoga, from June 24th–29th. Joan will take students “deep into the traditions of Iyengar Yoga, and deeper still into ourselves based on the most current developments of B.K.S. Iyengar’s teachings.”
The intensive is open to both students and teachers alike, however a minimum of six months of yoga experience is required. Participation in the intensive may also qualify for 22.5 hours of Continuing Education.
Each day will bring a full balance of curriculum and practice that will delve into a range of asana, philosophy, and pranayama. Mornings will focus on classical poses in practice; afternoon sessions will expand into talks and discussions on the subtleties of yogic philosophy, practical questions on practice, and pranayama.
With a sense of humor alongside a deep respect for the Iyengar Yoga lineage, Joan “transcends asana and connects us deep within our beings,” says the Omega Institute.
Joan looks forward to returning the intensive, telling us that “people love the Omega workshop, and it is such a beautiful place to do yoga that [students and teachers] really can’t go wrong.”
